Musical Maestro and internationally renowned Indian conductor of Western classical music Zubin Mehta, has achieved a number of awards in his 30 years music career. The Bombay born musical genius has conducted over two thousand concerts with this extraordinary ensemble including tours spanning five continents. In India he will be performing with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra along with Placido Domingo/Barbara Frittoli, Pinchas Zukerman, Daniel Barenboim and many other noted musicians. An important role of the partnership play Audi’s top of the line cars: the Audi A8, Audi A6, Audi A4 and Audi Q7 will be the official chauffeur cars for Zubin Mehta, his ensemble and selected guests. Audi’s flagship model, the Audi A8 W12, will be on display at the NCPA in Mumbai. Salzburg Easter Festival Throughout its history, the Salzburg Easter Festival has been closely intertwined with leading names from the world of music. The mantle of artistic director has passed from the festival's founder, Herbert von Karajan, to Kurt Masur, Bernard Haitink, Sir Georg Solti, Claudio Abbado and, most recently, to Sir Simon Rattle. The 2008 edition of this highly exclusive event sees AUDI AG acting as a main sponsor for the first time. Salzburg Festival The partnership between AUDI AG and one of the world's best known cultural festivals dates back to 1994. Summer Concerts When it comes to the company's own festival, AUDI AG is the event organiser rather than a sponsor in the traditional sense. Since 1990, the company has been inviting classical music stars from around the world to Ingolstadt, where it also showcases up-and-coming talent. Shooting Star Festival Since 2004 AUDI AG has presented stars and newcomer of rock and pop at the Audi Forum Ingolstadt for one weekend a year. Among the artists of this year’s Shooting Star Festival are Bryan Adams, Nena and Christina Stürmer. Potsdam Sanssouci Music Festival The Potsdam Music Festival is staged in the halls, churches and gardens of Potsdam. The unique ambience of this UNESCO World Heritage Site adds a very special flair to the programme of over 30 events. AUDI AG's cooperation with the music festival has been continuing for 17 years now. Classic Open – Leipzig In August of every year, Leipzig's market square is transformed into a summer concert venue. The old town hall and the new "Marktgalerie" shopping arcade serve as the backdrop for a varied musical programme ranging from classic to pop. Audi has been a main sponsor of the Classic Open since 2007. Jazz Baltica Jazz Baltica started out as the inaugural event of Ars Baltica, a network for cultural cooperation between the Baltic Sea States. Promoting young musical talent is another of the festival's missions. Intercultural understanding and working with young people are two goals which are very close to the company's heart. Audi has been a main sponsor of the festival since 2004. Ingolstadt Jazz Festival The Ingolstadt Jazz Festival is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2008. The event brings together both jazz greats from all over the world and local talent. Apart from being a main sponsor of the Jazz Festival, Audi also hosts a highlight concert at the Audi Forum in Ingolstadt. Ingolstadt Georgian Chamber Orchestra The musicians from this ensemble, which was originally founded in Tiflis, settled in Ingolstadt in 1990 with the support of AUDI AG. An intensive partnership has since blossomed between Audi and the orchestra, whose series of concerts and chamber music cycles have converted it into the city's musical figurehead. Museum for Concrete Art Concrete art is related to design, an important interface between art and automotive engineering. The Museum for Concrete Art is conceptually unique in Germany. Audi funded the museum's acquisition of audio guides and is the project sponsor for various exhibits. Foundation for Concrete Art and Design The mission of the Foundation for Concrete Art and Design is to safeguard and catalogue the estate of distinguished artists and designers, and to make it accessible to the public. AUDI AG is a founding member of the Foundation, which celebrated its inaugural event – an exhibition entitled "Ludwig Wilding – Visual Phenomena" – in May 2007. Audi Christmas Concerts During the Advent season, AUDI AG gets the public into the festive mood with two concerts, one in Ingolstadt and one in Neckarsulm. A programme of Christmas favourites rings through the Audi Forums as they are transformed into concert halls by Ingolstadt's Georgian Chamber Orchestra. Audi Philharmonic Wind Orchestra In 1962, Audi workers with a keen passion for music united to form a factory orchestra for woodwind and brass as well as percussion instruments. With countless public concerts and in-house performances, the Audi Philharmonic Wind Orchestra has been the company's musical ambassador for over 45 years now, as well as playing benefit concerts for charitable causes. Audi Art – "Art in Technical Development" Audi's Technical Development division doesn't just produce automotive works of art: many of the employees there draw their creative flair from artistic pastimes. The "Audi Art" initiative, which was launched in 2004 by the division's management, organises art events to offer these employees a forum for their work. Audi Youth Choir Academy Young vocalists from all over Bavaria rehearse major works from the music archives and receive personal voice training. The Audi Youth Choir Academy is celebrating its debut at the 2008 Summer Concerts with a performance of Haydn's "Schöpfung" (The Creation).
