Official website of Kerala Tourism - www.keralatourism.org has introduced online reservation[www.keralatourism.org/online-reservation.php] facility for hotels and resorts within Kerala. The facility was introduced as part of Kerala Tourism’s efforts to assist travelers to plan and book rooms in Kerala much easier and faster. Besides hotels and resorts, properties like ayurvedic centres, homestays and houseboats are also available online.

Nearly nine hundred properties in Kerala have enrolled to avail of the online facility, out of which 92 of them have already started offering reservations through this platform. With the facility in place, rooms can be booked online any time by visiting www.keralatourism.org. Now one hundred thousand room nights are available for reservation. This covers destinations like Alappuzha, Kumarakom, Munnar, Periyar, Wayanad, Kochi, Kozhikode etc. Rooms can be booked online by using major credit cards, debit cards, net banking and other facilities like Pay Pal.

The specialty of this reservation platform is that payment made for reservation is going directly to the account of the property. The online reservation engine was developed and is being maintained by www.webcrs.com.

According to Dr. Venu V., Secretary, Kerala Tourism, with the introduction of online reservation facility, the ten-year-old website - www.keralatourism.org has become more resourceful and user-friendly.

Bringing all the hotels, homestays, farm-stays, ayurvedic resorts etc. in Kerala under the purview of online reservation system is the next goal, says Mr. M. Sivasankar, Director, Kerala Tourism.

The online reservation system will be formally launched on 8th July.
