EDST to set up PLM Technology Competency Center in Bangalore

EDS Technologies (EDST), India’s largest Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions and service provider plans to set up a technology competency center for PLM solutions and applications in Bangalore. The objective of establishing this center is to help Indian customers – Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Engineering & Design service providers, derive best benefits from the use of PLM solutions for their business.

EDST has named Mr. Venkata Siva Prasad as the head of this competency center. According to Mr. S Senthil, VP – Operations, EDS Technologies, the competency center will have a dedicated team of specialists in IBM and Dassault Systems PLM products such as CATIA, ENOVIA VPLM and ENOVIA SMARTEAM. The team brings with it domain expertise in Automotive, Aerospace and other industries with wide experience in implementing, customizing and consulting on these PLM solutions.

The company has been providing PLM solutions to the end customers since 1995 and has over 650 customers in India using these solutions. The experience and expertise in offering leading-edge PLM solutions has enabled EDST to emerge as a leading solution provider to manufacturing industry and engineering service providers. In addition to meeting the PLM requirements of large OEMs and service providers, the new competency center of EDST will also focus on enabling SMEs implement cost effective and scalable enterprise PLM solutions.

The objective of this initiative is to share the experiences gained over the last decade to help industries reduce product development costs and time to market thereby increasing the competitiveness in the global market. Starting with a few consultants with strong domain knowledge of verticals from Automotive and Aerospace segments, over the next 5 years, EDST expects to add a large number of consultants to work very closely with the industries and service providers.
