SAARC CIOs Come Together: another First from 9.9 Media

New Delhi, Delhi, India, Tuesday, March 23, 2010 -- (Business Wire India)

CTO Forum, 9.9 Media’s flagship brand for technology decision makers, recently concluded The First Annual South Asia CIO Summit in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Conducted over a 3-day period, 19-21 March 2010, the summit was attended by over 70 of the most senior technology decision makers from the SAARC region. With ample representation from five countries India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan, this is the first time that a platform has been created for CIOs and senior technology decision makers at the SAARC region level.

Given that several companies serve the entire SAARC region through one central office the First Annual South Asia CIO Summit solves for a very important need – for technology users and providers alike. The role of the CIO as a business leader is increasing in importance and assuming centre-stage across the region and the summit proved to be an effective platform for CIOs to share experiences, debate solutions and solve for common challenges.

The First Annual South Asia CIO Summit did well to balance a range of topics; from leadership to communicating the value of IT to hard-core technology topics like virtualisation and security. Commenting on the efficacy of the summit in bringing together CIOs from across the region on one common platform many attendees termed it as a ‘historic event for the CIO community’. Going by the success of the launch event of this platform Anuradha Das Mathur, Founder Director of 9.9 Media and the person behind the CTO Forum, has already announced plans to include CIOs from Pakistan and Maldives as well from next year onwards to make this a true representation of a SAARC CIO Summit. Along the year CTO Forum plans to conduct regular chapters in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Pakistan to ensure the continuity of the initiative.

CTO Forum, a 9.9 Media brand, promotes the exchange of informed perspectives, insights, trends, management techniques and IT strategies, between CIOs and other stakeholders. It is a trusted source of information for top management responsible for balancing the demands of growth and governance through technology. CTO Forum is now the leading media platform which reaches out to technology decision makers of 5 countries in the South Asia region.
