Praj Appoints Gajanan Nabar as CEO & MD

Praj Industries (Praj), globally leading Biofuels, Brewery, Process Equipment and Water & Wastewater Treatment Solutions Company, announced the Board’s approval for the appointment of Mr. Gajanan Nabar as CEO & Managing Director effective 15th November, 2010.



Mr. Nabar has over 22 years of multi-functional management experience. His last assignment was as Managing Director of Praxair India Private limited. During his tenure of 8 years with Praxair, he has managed various roles in Operations, Projects and Business development. He was deputed to Company’s technical centre at Buffalo, New York as Business Development Director for leading capital projects in the United States. Shortly upon his return to India, he took over as Managing Director of the Company. Under his stewardship, the Company consolidated its position as the number one Industrial Gases Company in India.

Prior to joining Praxair, he worked with Monsanto India for seven years and was responsible for setting up Monsanto’s first chemical JV in Asia for the specialty resins. Subsequently he moved to the agriculture and Biotech side of the business and led a successful alliance with Rallis India for Sales and distribution of Seeds and Chemicals.

From 1988 to 1996 he managed a variety of roles of growing responsibilities in Sales, Marketing and Business development with Asian paints and BASF.

He is an active member of the American Chamber of Commerce, CII and BCIC and a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO).

He holds Master’s degree in Polymer Chemistry and a Masters in Management from Bombay University. He was conferred a diploma by Plastic and Rubber Institute, London and has completed the Executive development program of Wharton Management School.
