The Indian edition of French fashion and luxury magazine, L'Officiel, is now being brought out by MaXposure Media Group. Owned by media group Les Editions Jalou, the leading French title is renowned for its focus on high-end fashion and luxury lifestyle. L'Officiel has captured the French spirit of elegance and couture's top talents for more than 90 years. It now stands as the ultimate style-selection magazine, advising women on how to dress, and directly supporting the retail activity of international fashion and luxury brands. Currently distributed in nearly 70 countries, L'Officiel is the doyenne of French women's fashion magazines.
The magazine has been re-launched with an October issue, which is now on stands. It will have an initial print run of 45,000 copies and will continue to bear a cover price of Rs 100. Also, the frequency of the monthly luxury fashion offering will be changed from 10 to 12 issues a year.
Prakash Johari, CEO and Managing Director of MaXposure Media Group, says, "The Indian apparel and beauty segments continue to post double-digit growth year on year, which makes us even more confident about L'Officiel India. Plus, let's not forget L'Officiel India as a brand has weathered the launch of several new titles in India and emerged as a product of choice for both readers as well as advertisers. Now, with a stronger hold on editorial and concept strategy, and a better understanding of what the consumers of luxury desire to read and access, we are confident we will be able to win over more readers, while rewriting the rules of the game in the segment."
Adds Vikas Johari, Publisher, MaXposure Media Group, "L'Officiel India has emerged as the decisive fashion, style and luxury destination for the Indian elite and developed into one of the most authoritative voices in the Indian fashion industry. The new L'Officiel India will continue to uphold its commitment to Indian fashion-conscious women and deliver cutting-edge fashion content to them every month."
Juhi Dua has taken over as L'Officiel India's new editor. In her previous role, Juhi was heading www.femina.in, Femina magazine's website, a property of WWM (World Wide Media), Times of India Group. She joined Femina.in as the editor in 2009 and took the property from its launch to establishing it as not only a known online brand for women, but also a profitable venture.
Talking about her new role as L'Officiel India's editor, she says, "We are committed to escalate the standards of luxury and fashion content in India by taking L'Officiel India to another league altogether, both in terms of concept and content."
Excited about the October issue hitting the stands, Juhi says, "Our October issue celebrates Fierce Fashion. Fierce is both beautiful and powerful and it just made a lot of sense to start on this heady note. I hope L'Officiel loyalists, and others too, enjoy the new avatar of this much-loved magazine."
In keeping with the commitment to make the magazine even stronger, L'Officiel will feature 30 per cent international content with full access to the group's content, while keeping the balance between Indianised and global content. The L'Officiel brand has also been extended to the digital platform to enhance its brand equity.
