Nominations Invited for Second Edition of Proto.in 20 Venture Capital Firms Representing More Than $1.5 Billion Confirm Participation

Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, Monday, June 04, 2007 -- (Business Wire India)

The second edition of Proto.in, a premier event showcasing Technology Start-ups and innovative products, will be held on July 21 and 22, 2007, in Chennai. Held bi-annually at IIT Madras, this two-day event is organized by a national network of entrepreneurs and technology enthusiasts identified as ‘The Knowledge Foundation’.

Technology start-ups ready to showcase their products can nominate themselves by logging on to www.proto.in. Nomination window is open till June 15, 2007.

Proto.in First Edition (January 20 and 21, 2007) – Success

-- 27 start-ups presented their vision and demonstrated their products.

-- 7 of them are on the verge of closing their funding deals.

-- Many participant start-ups (that were earlier struggling to get clients) signed up many clients soon after the event.

Proto.in Second Edition – What’s in store?

-- 20 VC firms have confirmed participation: Sequoia Capital, Canaan Partners, Matrix Partners, Greylock Partners, Mentor Partners, Clearstone Ventures, Band of Angels among others, representing more than $1.5 billion in fund size for India investments

-- NASSCOM, IAMAI, TiE, and TeNeT are providing active support for the event.

-- Start-ups from all across Asia Pacific are invited to participate.
