Consolidates software solutions business in Singapore signs a four year software development agreement
New Delhi, Delhi, India

HCL Infosystems Limited (HCL Insys), India's premier technology integration company today announced that it is setting up a managed Off-shore Development Center (ODC) at its Noida software development facility for Stratech Systems Limited, a Singapore based IT systems and technology developer. Stratech has created a strong presence in the 3D computer vision, medical systems technologies and intelligent transportation and has built significant IPR in these fields.

Both sides signed on a four-year agreement in the presence of Mr YEO Cheow Tong, Singapore Minister for Communications and Information Technology. HCL Insys briefed the IT Minister on the various projects being executed by the company for Singapore businesses. HCL is working with Stratech to develop state-of-the-art computer vision technologies, intelligent transport systems and e-business tools and Internetware.

Dr David K M Chew, Chairman and Chief Executive of Stratech said, "We chose HCL Insys as our strategic business partner in India, as they are India's leading technology Integration Company. Also, as an aspiring global technology player, business expansion into new markets is the way forward for us. Unlike other major IT companies, the bulk of whose revenues come from the overseas markets, the majority, more than 70%, of HCL Insys' revenue comes from within India. With this, we see great potential in marketing our technologies in India, by tapping on the extensive network and contacts that has been established by HCL Insys."

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ajai Chowdhry, Chairman and CEO, HCL Insys said, "We are excited about this association with Stratech Systems. This is a growing enterprise and we look forward to a regular inflow of high-end technology business from them. Besides this association will also help us in consolidating our software solutions business in this fast growing market and will open up endless possibilities for us, in both Transport and Healthcare verticals. This offshore development centre for Stratech is a preview of the shape of things to happen in these segments for us."

"We realized that organizations worldwide would increasingly look for single window enterprise solutions in key vertical segments like telecommunications, manufacturing, finance and banking, government, utilities and transportation. Today, HCL Infosystems has proven capabilities in the high-end software development and critical project delivery in each of these segments and the company has achieved higher process maturity levels in Quality with SEI-CMM level 4, which has boosted the company's global software solutions and services business in the past two years, especially, in the US, UK, Singapore, Australia and Malaysia," added Mr Chowdhry.
