Vedica Opens Admissions for 2016
New Delhi, Delhi, India

The Vedica Scholars Programme for Women (VSPW) now invites applications for its second batch, commencing classes in June 2016. VSPW is a unique 18-month, fully residential, management and personal growth programme focused on providing an MBA-like professional education to graduate women. In addition, it equips young women with the distinctive skills required to begin their careers with a head-start and navigate professional challenges effectively. Last year, the Programme successfully attracted almost 40 students for its Founding Class - with diverse backgrounds from across the country.
Vedica’s Governing Council boasts of pre-eminent women leaders such as Madeleine Albright, former US Secretary of State; Meenakshi Gopinath, former Principal of LSR; Chhavi Rajawat, Sarpanch of Soda village; and Vinita Bali, former MD of Britannia, among others. This programme aims to bring about a radical shift in the traditional approach to management education. Anuradha Das Mathur, the Founding Dean at Vedica, believes that “MBA programmes don’t teach women how to play to their strengths or prepare them for taking informed decisions at natural crossroads. Our Scholars will set new benchmarks for professional women in the 21st century.”

One of the most unique features of Vedica is its ‘Shadow a Woman CEO’ Programme  – a compelling one-month module that exposes Vedica Scholars to a successful, senior, professional woman to combine management practice with women and leadership issues. The Programme also assures a 100 percent placement to all Vedica Scholars.

Vedica is backed by Pramath Raj Sinha, a successful and serial 'educational institution builder’ with the Indian School of Business, Young India Fellowship and Ashoka University under his belt. The Programme has been launched in partnership with the Sri Aurobindo Centre for Arts and Communications and the classes are run out of their beautiful, centrally located campus in New Delhi.

About the Programme

‘My teaching assignment at Vedica has been an exhilarating experience for two reasons. First, the participants were very responsive and active at every session. Secondly, I was privileged to be associated with a programme aimed at empowering professional women in the work place. With my insights into the corporate world and academics, I can also say that Vedica’s curriculum is path breaking’
J N Godinho, Professor of Marketing, Management Development Institute (MDI)

The Vedica Scholars are taught by a fine mix of hand-picked academics and practitioners for each of the four converging course tracks: Mastering Management Practice, Learning from the Liberal Arts, Thinking and Communicating for Impact and Taking Charge of Personal Growth. Pramath Raj Sinha, Chairperson, Academic Council, VSPW explains: “The curriculum incorporates practical knowledge, critical thinking through reading, writing, research, discussions and debates, emotional intelligence, experiential learning, and self-awareness. Students must get exposure to a range of real world scenarios from the grass-roots in villages to the corner offices in glass buildings.” The courses include core management modules such as Quantitative Methods, Operations, Business Strategy and Marketing, while also encompassing subjects such as Philosophy for Management, Logical and Mathematical Thinking, and Development Practice 101. The Development Practice course includes a class trip to Kesla, Madhya Pradesh, to understand the functioning of the development sector. In addition to the academic curriculum, seminar series and guest sessions give Scholars a peek into guest speakers’ personal journeys and diverse professional experiences, leaving students with the inspiration to build upon and shape their ideas.

All achievement-oriented women with a graduate degree and a desire to excel professionally are eligible to apply for Vedica Scholars Programme. For more information about the Programme, visit us at www.vedicascholars.com
