Re-launch based on user insights from the growing Indian Internet market
 
Mumbai, Maharashtra, India:  Rediff.com India Limited (NASDAQ: REDF) one of India's leading Internet portals focusing on India and the global Indian community, today announced the re-launch of its site www.rediff.com based on its user experiences and insights. The re-designed site is more user-friendly with several enhanced features to its existing services, primarily targeting the growing base of new Internet users in India and overseas.

The Indian Internet market is expected to grow from 5 million users in August 2000 to 7.1 million users by March 2001, increasing to 39.6 million users by March 2004 as per market estimates by Indian Market Research Bureau, a leading market research agency in India. Rediff.com USA, http://us.rediff.com, has also been improved with content that is customized for the Indian community in the United States, including city-specific pages of nine US cities. These pages provide listings of local news, events and directories for Indians in the USA. Rediff.com USA now has an e-newsletter, providing daily and weekly updates on happenings relevant to the Indian community.

More easy-to-use navigation: Community and communication services have been arranged together under a single section. Similarly like content and service offerings have been grouped under common sections for easy navigation.

The "Get Connected" section houses all communication services such as Rediffmail, Rediff Chat, the instant messenger Rediff Bol, Rediff Mobile and Rediff on Palm as well as community services including E-Cards and Matchmaker.

"Just 4 You" section combines interest specific content and services such as travel, astrology, contest, movies, downloads, romance, jobs, etc.

"Money Manager" section merges financial news, as well as personal finance information, with BSE & NSE stock indices, quotes and the portfolio tracker.

"Today's Headlines" combines breaking and business news, sports, news links, technology news, etc. with exclusive India and US led editorial features.

New and enhanced service offerings:

'Inside Rediff' has been specially introduced for new users at Rediff.com and is designed to show them how to make the most of the Internet, whether it is for their communication needs, enhancing careers, staying informed, shopping online or even just to have fun.

Rediff Chat now comprises of a total of 60 chat rooms, including 47 new exciting chat rooms. The chat rooms are based on geography, layout and hangouts. Eg. Campus Beats, Job Watch, Eve's Corner, etc.

Free Personal Homepages include 5 new and enhanced templates, offering users a range of options to build their personal web pages.

Additionally, its directory includes a total of 37 new interest specific categories, under which one can list their web page on the Internet.

The Rediff Guide to the Net and its Search engine, Rediff Search have been enhanced to provide increase relevance for India related searches.

Other enhancements include Rediffmail, which has been launched with new features, Rediff Shopping incorporating a host of new services with the latest in e-commerce technology. These improvements provide for a superior online shopping experience for first-time as well as regular users.

Rediff.com will be launching a multi-media advertising campaign to announce the re-launched site in India under the brand tag line, "Rediff.com: Internet ka Dum - Maximum" which means "Rediff.com enables users make the most of the Internet".
